If an estimate changes while work is being done, customer is notified immediately & given the option of getting recommended services done. The BEST place in the State of Texas to get your car serviced (or buy tires) when the warranty has expired! I recommend Clear Lake Auto to all of my friends & family. (Appts not required but recommended; an auto shop this outstanding is ALWAYS BUSY!)

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Absolutely Wonderful Experience at Clear Lake Auto Service! I can't say enough good things about Clear Lake Auto Service, especially their manager, Tim. From the very beginning, he has gone above and beyond to make sure I felt taken care of. My husband is an over-the-road truck driver, so he's gone most of the time and isn't here to keep an eye on our vehicle or handle things when something needs attention. When I brought my vehicle in, I explained to Tim that I was pretty much on my own and didn't really have anyone here to help me. Tim looked at me and said, “Well, you have us now.” ❤️ That meant more to me than he probably realizes. Since then, Tim has kept me updated every step of the way. He's been upfront with me about what was going on with my vehicle, given me approximate costs, answered my questions, and never made me feel like I was being left in the dark. He even loaned me a vehicle while mine is being repaired, which has been an incredible help. It's hard to find people in the auto repair business who genuinely make you feel like they care about more than just getting your money. Tim has treated me with kindness, respect, and honesty, and that's something I truly appreciate. Clear Lake Auto Service has definitely earned my trust and my recommendation. Place is absolutely fantastic! As soon as I came in Tim was there to welcome me and hear me out when it came to my car troubles. Communication was great as I was always kept in the know of what was happening to my vehicle. Pricing was fair and Tim even helped me out when it came to staying within my budget. TIM,TIM,TIM....you are the MAN! From the jump,he made me feel so relaxed and confident that they would take care of my betsy baby😆. Its been a longggg battle with trying to figure out my car and why it was bucking like a horse*lol*. Not only did he break down everything they would test on,he made sure to actually KEEP IN TOUCH with me which is very important as far as communication. Fair price was drawn up and I left feeling HEARD. Will keep them in mind when I bring her back for a pap lol😁🫣 EDIT: 9-24-2026- Came in because I had a piece hanging in the front end of my betsy baby😭. My car and I were in a difficult place. I was tired and my vehicle’s issues could not be safely delayed in their resolution. Tim had shown up repeatedly where others did not. I am glad to have my car back.

I brought my van in because I could hear a clunking noise when I went over bumps. It was concerning because I was going to be taking a long trip soon. Tim asked to take a drive with me to see if he could hear the noise. He did hear it and thought it might be the sway bars. As it turned out there were several things that needed repair. It was expensive but my peace of mind before my long trip was worth it. My husband and I have taken our vehicles to Clear Lake Auto for over 15 years and have never regretted the services provided by them. Tim and the other staff are knowledgeable about the problems that vehicles can have and caring in their services to their customers.

Clear Lake Auto Service is straight up on their services and pricing. If there are any mistakes, they resolve them without push back.

Jeep Patriot I have been getting my car serviced at Clear Lake Auto for 4+ years now. I recently took the car in because I kept hearing a popping sound coming from the rear of the vehicle. Even though this ended up being nothing-a loose light cover on my brake lights-I was treated with complete courtesy (Kathy, Phil) and the car was examined thoroughly. I was not dismissed as a worry wart. There was frequent communication and the pricing was explained clearly. I highly recommend Clear Lake Auto.

The trunk of my Jeep patriot was not opening. They were able to fix my trunk in it such a timely manner. The communication was great , The employees there are also wonderful. Tim and Roberto were very sweet and made sure to answer all of my questions. I definitely recommend this place for servicing your vehicle and I will return again.

Tim and the Clear Lake Auto Service team came through for us big time! My wife and I both had issues with our vehicles pop up at the exact same time. We’re going out of town in a few days, and the dealer wanted to charge us an arm and a leg just to look at hers. Oh, and they couldn’t get to it until next Tuesday! But Tim and the crew got us both taken care of in under 2 hours. We were expecting to need to leave at least 1 overnight, but we were in and out! They are all professional, courteous and honest. I couldn’t recommend these guys enough, and we’ll always give them a shot to earn our business in the future before looking elsewhere. 10/10 experience!

Great experience with Clearlake auto. Tim the service manager was polite and did everything possible to keep my cost down without sacrificing quality of work or safety. I was really appreciative of Allen the mechanic who carefully thought out how to resolve my issue. He took his work home through the weekend to return to the office with a solution. I was called with each hiccup to ensure I was comfortable with the work requested and the cost.

It’s been over a year since I had been back and they remembered me. Service evaluation was thorough and luckily just needed an oil change. Will definitely be back.

I must first provide some context. I always was just a working man in the Building Trades. I told them up front I don't expect the unreasonable, I don't expect the impossible, I don't expect anybody to work for me for free. I only expect a fair deal and honest guaranteed work. I got it. I can't do this review in a 20 second sound bite. This is not a luv luv kiss kiss syrupy quickie conflict of interest review or some stinking paid review. I am in my 70s with two older vehicles. I live in Friendswood since 1972, I used to do a lot of my own mechanic work when I was much younger, still have all my tools. I listened to all the best expert car repair radio shows in Houston throughout the years. This long-time stand-alone independent shop didn't/ don't / won't, get a mention from the Houston radio car repairs expert shop shows, any acknowledgment, except for a few CLAS callers customers blurting it out on the air without asking permission. Why? You tell me. Seems to me, in my opinion: jealousy?, competition? EVEN, with me calling off-air asking, and callers directly asking them on air to recommend a really good shop in the DEADZONE southeast Houston area, when the shows knew dam well ALL about CLAS.  Believe me, I have been around the block. This shop stands on its own history and word-of-mouth and return-customer business. CLAS stands on its own, doesn't need their validation, doesn't need to be a member of their radio show clique club auto-product-sales-club, doesn't need them. I don't give reviews, ever. Try to find one. This is the exception. This shop has done several very tough jobs for me in the last 3 years. Jobs that other shops (big names) wouldn't do, wouldn't touch, couldn't do, can't even do in my opinion. This shop also exposed and fixed all kinds of serious bad work done on my vehicles that my previous long-time shop near Fuqua was responsible for doing. Criminal almost. Clear Lake Auto Service inspected, diagnosed, recommended, estimated, located and procured all kinds of hard-to-find parts for my vehicle's repairs and made it all seem effortless. I've never seen such an impressive independent shop as this one that's so much like the biggest name expensive expansive new-vehicle-only 40 million dollar auto dealership of days-gone-by, this independent shop that has/ exceeds in comparable professional service and  services and techs with such quality work and customer care and even has a shuttle service. I have been with them several years now. My friend David A. has been with CLAS many more years than me. While I can choose among hundreds of other shops in my local area and beyond, Clear Lake Auto Service is exclusively my shop and my only shop, period the end. My present Service Advisor on my last 3 big tickets of work on my old Suburban is Tim Nicoladis. I felt bad watching him working as hard as he could through his lunch period to give me the 3 different detailed very itemized tickets for back-to-back work that I wanted, so I could examine them and then pay up and go home to eat MY lunch. Work nearly all of which CLAS had done while I was down for surgery and then 28 days recuperating. I was allowed to seriously inspect all the work, up on the rack, under the hood, and otherwise, and test drive it myself. Kudos to Robert Sexton and his entire team and every last very valuable team member. Keep in mind, I don't review on a quickie limited boiler-plate scale, or review from limited scope multiple choice.  And I could not do in 20 words or less a free-form review that would do this shop justice. This is the highest recommendation I know how to give:  Clear Lake Auto Service is exclusively "my auto repair shop". -Fred G., Friendswood, Tx

Great, quick service from Tim Nicoladis! I needed a battery swap on a hard-to-reach battery (chevy blazer) and he helped me out a lot to make it affordable. Very courteous and transparent with a kind and professional staff. Highly recommend!

I really can’t think of a mechanic shop that has taken care of me as good as these amazing folks! Kathy is always so nice and Tim is very helpful and always knowledgeable. If your looking for honest work at a fair price that stand behind there work then this is the place for you!

I can't give enough praise about the team at Clear Lake Auto Service! Everyone there is super helpful, patient, kind, understanding, and determined. I took my 1985 Corvette in with a couple different issues and even when it seemed like every angle was assessed Joelle and her team continued working hard until the issues were solved. Tim is amazing as well! He gave me constant updates and gave me a very fair price across the board. I definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking for a honest and hard working team! Phillip assisted me right away and had a technician change out my right rear brake light at no charge. Have used this place for years and can’t say enough about their great service.

I’ve been to this shop twice, once in 2006 and I stopped by today 12/22/25. It’s been great both times. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. In 1hr, they fixed an issue that the Toyota dealer wanted 4 hrs just to trouble shoot. Phillip was very helpful, Thanks guys!

I have been coming here for years for routine maintenance and one day I had a huge coolant leak. I took my truck in and Tim was extremely helpful! He found the parts quickly and got my car back to me in no time and better than before!

This shop did unnecessary and unagreed maintenance on my car. They did a scam and charged me 4 times more than initially stated. I dropped off my car for a $90 ac actuator inspection of blending hot and cold air. I called the shop at 5:30pm and was told that the mechanic has left at 5pm without inspecting my car. At 6pm I got a quote of $400 for checking leak for the ac. Without doing the $90 actuator inspection they decided to extend to a $400 leak inspection on ac that I had not asked for. At the end the issue was the actuator and instead of charging $90 they had decided to fix ac gas pressure for $400. I don’t trust and recommend this shop and how they handle business.
