They’re great. They diagnosed my truck, and got to the bottom of the issue without charging me for unnecessary repairs. Taco working the front is knowledgeable as well. I’ll use them again.

I can't give enough praise about the team at Clear Lake Auto Service! Everyone there is super helpful, patient, kind, understanding, and determined. I took my 1985 Corvette in with a couple different issues and even when it seemed like every angle was assessed Joelle and her team continued working hard until the issues were solved. Tim is amazing as well! He gave me constant updates and gave me a very fair price across the board. I definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking for a honest and hard working team! I’ve been to this shop twice, once in 2006 and I stopped by today 12/22/25. It’s been great both times. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the mechanics are very knowledgeable. In 1hr, they fixed an issue that the Toyota dealer wanted 4 hrs just to trouble shoot. Phillip was very helpful, Thanks guys!

I have been coming here for years for routine maintenance and one day I had a huge coolant leak. I took my truck in and Tim was extremely helpful! He found the parts quickly and got my car back to me in no time and better than before!

My check engine 🚗 light came on,i pulled in, i was there maybe 5 minutes and a nice guy came out and put a digital reader on car and I took a photo, then I was outta there. Super fast and really nice. Girl at counter and guy,very nice and on the ball.

Tim was very professional and communicative during the time my car was in the shop. He listened to my concerns and believed me when they initially did not see the issue and insisted they keep looking. They were honest about the amount of labor spent on the repairs and even reimbursed me for the time not used! That's never happened before! Top notch customer service! They are my car people!!!

Went for an oil change and they were friendly, had a nice waiting area, free coffee & water. They were thorough, checking many things on the car giving me peace of mind. I would recommend them.

Had what I thought was a bad starter according to an auto parts store and was prepared to get a new one and pay the price. Went to this shop and talked to Tim and he was able to diagnose the problem correctly without charging me. He was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. He saved me a huge headache and he was able to save me a lot of money and time in the process. I had an excellent experience with Clear Lake Auto. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by Tim, the Service Manager. He quickly took a look at my truck and efficiently noted the issues. He kept me notified of their progress throughout service, explaining the repairs and costs. Their front desk staff and technicians also were kind and provided a great experience. Highly recommend!

Had to take my 2003 Rubicon in for service to diagnose and correct an emissions leak in order to get a state inspection (check engine light with a corresponding emission leak code had been on for some time.) I chose Clear Lake Auto Service for the work. So glad I did! Received excellent same day service. They did an overall vehicle inspection and diagnoses, found the leak and replaced the purge valve. Also discovered in the inspection that my battery was in bad shape. Battery was only 1 yr old. Clear Lake Auto technician called the auto parts store where I purchased the battery and got me a full warranty swap for a new one. Drove my Jeep home same day, leak corrected and a new battery. Returned to shop 2 days later after driving the required mileage to completely clear emissions code from the vehicle computer, Jeep passed the state inspection and was handed over clean and detailed inside and out. Highly recommend Clear Lake Auto Service!!!

Update: Clear Lake auto reached out to me, made things right, and apparently the technician who worked on my car has moved on. I'm happy with how they handled the situation and my rating has been changed accordingly.

I don't normally leave bad reviews...but here we go.
I had a wheel stud break off so I came here to get it replaced. While they were in there they said the front brakes were nearly metal on metal. It had been a while since I had the front brakes done so I gave the go ahead to replace the front brakes. Then they tell me the rear pads are nearly metal on metal. This piques my interest since I had just done the rear brakes somewhat recently. I look and unsurprisingly, they're not even close to being done. I decline the rear brake service. Sketchy, in my opinion.
After they're done with the front brakes and stud, I leave. Brakes squeal like crazy and they creak when nearing a stop. I don't have the time to bring it back since I was only in town for a little while. I hoped that the pads would break in but they continued to squeal and creak months later, as well as the new rotors they installed started to warp.
I had enough and redid the brakes myself today. I discover that the new stud wasn't even close to being fully seated, and instead of the shank lug nut they were supposed to use, they had installed an acorn lug nut. How they decided that this was acceptable is beyond me. Also the slide pins were basically dry, they didn't bother to lubricate or even check them.

TLDR: Tried to have me replace rear brakes that were perfectly fine, seemingly poor quality front brake parts, terrible job installing wheel stud (not seated, picture attached), and used the wrong kind of lug nut (acorn vs shank).

Great customer service. They handled my car with excellent care and got me back on the road I’m no time! Definitely recommend getting any auto repair services here. They also work with my extended warranty company which is a huge plus. Please contact Tim for all your questions and concerns!

Auto repair to out of towner Was visiting from Dallas and my “check engine” light came on. It was a Saturday afternoon and was difficult to not only find an auto repair shop that was open on Saturdays, but one that would be able to squeeze us in with only a few hours left in the day. By the grace of God, we came across clear Lake Auto Service, and Tim was not only generous enough to take a look at my car problem, but also took the extra time to repair it. He also went out of his way to look into whether some of the repairs were still covered under the warranty. Fortunately, some of it was. Very hard to find an honest auto repair shop and we are very grateful for people like Tim. Wish this shop was in Dallas.

The team was very professional and polite. They did a great job in keeping me informed of what was happening with my vehicle. The initial inspection report was great and lets you know other details of your vehicle's health. I will be returning in future needs.

They inspected my car for more than what I came in for which lets me know they thoroughly check your vehicle for the best service! They fixed my car the next day after I had it towed there & they off a shuttle if u need a ride to/from the shop! The pricing was pretty reasonable and mostly lower than some other places I got an estimate an at. Phillip has the most awesome customer service I’ve experienced in a long time! It was so refreshing to be treated so kind. This place saved my life! Highly recommend!

I’ve been dealing with A/C problems for a long time and after trying other shops, I was honestly bracing myself to get upsold on things I didn’t need. Clear Lake Auto Service was the complete opposite. They were straightforward, honest, and focused only on fixing the actual issue. No pressure nor gimmicks just real service at a reasonable price.

Now my A/C works perfectly, and I couldn’t be happier. The team here earned my trust, and I’m genuinely grateful for the way they handled everything. If you’re looking for a shop that does quality work without trying to take advantage of you, this is absolutely the place to go.

CLAS was highly recommended to me and I have already recommended them to two friends. Their work is excellent and very reasonably priced. They saved me approximately $2K when compared to the dealership. However, what keeps me coming back is their absolutely phenomenal customer service. Great place to take your vehicle! Tim communicated everything very well and the work was done in a timely manner. Additionally, they washed my vehicle after service and provided a shuttle to get me from my home to the shop. Next time I need some work done I know where to go!
